Kenneth J. Risch, 88, of Lindsey passed away on Sunday morning, November 30, 2025 at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH. Kenneth was born on April 21, 1937 in Oak Harbor, Ohio to Kenneth & Regina (Behnken) Risch.
Kenneth was a 1955 graduate of Oak Harbor High School where he was a scoreboard operator. He worked 38 years for Standard Products in Port Clinton, OH & after their closing worked 19 years at Woodbridge in Fremont, retiring in 2013. He served his country for seven years with the Army/National Guards stationed in Fort Knox, KY. He was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Oak Harbor & Trinity Lutheran Church, Kingsway where he served on the church council & member of the dartball team.
Kenneth was a former 4-H & FFA member, he served as a 4-H advisor for the Portage Mohawks & the Kingsway Shepherds 4-H clubs, he served on the 4-H Advisory Committee & Jr. Fair Livestock Committee. He was a founding member of the FFA Alumni in Fremont & original member of the Toy & Doll Show Committee.
ln his spare time through the years, Kenneth enjoyed raising sheep, hunting, fishing, watching westerns, reading Louis L-Amour books, going to football games, local barbeques, & the Amish Country.
Kenneth married Freda L. Cooley on August 24, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church and together they had five children. He was a devoted husband & father.
Kenneth is survived by his five children; Julie (Kevin) Polter, Ken (Jenni) Risch, Louis (Kay) Risch, Matt Risch, & Nathan (Tamara) Risch; grandchildren Jessi, Ashley, Felecia, Michalla, Paige, Dakota, & Kade; step grandchildren Debbie, Selena, Monica & Brad; five great-grandchildren; seven step great-grandchildren & two step great-great-grandchildren; sisters Carolyn Beard, Linda Dehring, Marlene (Bill) Webb, Rosalie (Dan) Traut; brothers Marvin (Judy), Ronald (Karen), & Larry (Dorla) and many nieces & nephews.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Freda; his parents; sisters Marian Cherry & Geneva Risch; & grandson Joshua.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 13,2025 12:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor SE Rd. Oak Harbor, OH; the family will be present for visitation beginning at 10 a.m. & a luncheon will follow. A private burial will be held at a later date.
