Luigi Pinto, 83, of Franklin Square, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Guardiagrele, Abruzzo, Italy, Luigi immigrated to the United States in 1969 in search of a better life for his family. He built a fulfilling life, working in construction for 36 years and settling in Franklin Square in 1973, where he lived in the same home ever since. Luigi was married for 55 years to his beloved wife, Angela, and was a proud father and father-in-law to Peter (Carrie) and Anthony (Angela). He found great joy in his five grandchildren-Andrew, Alaina, Alessandra, Adrian, and Ariana-and was an enthusiastic supporter of their interests and talents. Luigi was active in his community, participating in a local bowling league and serving as a member and officer of the Order Sons of Italy, America Lodge 2245. He was an expert handyman and gardener and enjoyed playing bocce, vacationing at Villa Roma and in the Caribbean, and cheering on the Mets. He is survived by his loving sister Pierina and brother-in-law Tony. Luigi will be remembered for his dedication to family, strong work ethic, and unwavering pride in his Italian heritage.
