ANNA -- KENNETH "DOUG" SCHAFFER, 76, of Anna, passed away at 5:01 P.M. Saturday, August 27, 2022 at Miami Valley Hospital. He was born on September 23, 1945 in Sidney, Ohio, the son of the late Kenneth J. and Edith (Jelley) Schaffer.
Doug is survived by his two children, Shannon (Amy) Schaffer of DeGraff, and Iesha (Lyle) Lampy of Jackson Center; two grandchildren, Andrew and Owen Lampy; and one brother, Dale Schaffer of Sidney. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Schaffer.
Doug was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. and served during Vietnam. He was a member of the Anna American Legion Heiland Post 446. Doug was a graduate of Anna High School, class of 1963. He worked in construction most of his life. Doug was well liked in the community and enjoyed being outdoors, whether that was tending his giant vegetable garden or mowing his and even neighbors' lawns. Doug loved the Lord, and he loved his family. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, September 2, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Cromes-Edwards Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Pearl Cemetery with military honors provided by the Sidney Veterans Honor Guard and the U.S. Marines. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday from 10 A.M. until the time of service. Condolences may be expressed to Doug's family at our website, www.cromesfh.com
