Kenneth (Kenny) Leroy Schmitt Jr., 65, of Manor, Texas passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Temple, Texas.
Born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kenny was the cherished son of Kenneth L. Schmitt and Marlyn Jean Schmitt. After completing his high school education, he migrated to Texas, where he established his career at Capital City Container. It was here that he met the love of his life, Mary Longoria, and their union in marriage in 1991 marked the beginning of a beautiful journey together. Following the closure of Capital City Container, Kenny continued to serve his community with dedication at the United States Postal Service, from which he retired in 2025.
Kenny's passions were many; he found joy in a good game of golf, the thrill of bowling, the tranquility of fishing, and the warmth of barbecuing with loved ones. Mornings were especially dear to him as he delighted in observing the birds that visited his yard, a testament to his appreciation for nature's simple pleasures.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents and is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Schmitt; three cherished children: Shawn (Sabrina) Schmitt, Blake Schmitt, and Krystal Schmitt; along with two grandsons, Connor and Dante Schmitt. Kenny also leaves behind four loving sisters: Rose (Michael) Crabill, Deborah (Richard) Snelling, Sherry Watson, and Pamela (Jack) Felger, as well as a host of adoring nieces and nephews who will carry his memory forward.
A visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2025, Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM.
