Kenneth Shilinsky Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 27, 2026.
Kenneth A. Shilinsky, born on May 17, 1944, in Dudley, Massachusetts to Anthony and Victoria (Rukat) Shilinsky passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Kenny leaves behind two sisters, Jean Mansfield of North Grosvenordale, CT, and Diane Beaudry of Seattle, WA; several nieces and nephews; including his godchild, Ronald Young Jr. of Summerfield, Florida. The love of his life, Frances Yvonne Sestito (Frannie), passed on December 1, 2021 after a six-year battle with cancer.

Kenneth graduated from Bartlett High School in Webster, Massachusetts, Class of 1962. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lowell Technological Institute and a Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. He became a Registered Professional Environmental Engineer in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and co-authored several peer-reviewed technical publications.

Kenneth worked in the management and operation of community and industrial wastewater treatment plants in Massachusetts. In 1982, he joined the Metropolitan District Commission as a Sanitary Engineer. When the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority was created in 1985, he continued his career at the Deer Island Wastewater Treatment Plant in Boston Harbor. During his 20 years there, he served as Assistant Superintendent and Senior Program Manager, and at retirement was Chairperson of the Pollution Prevention Committee. His work contributed to the modernization of the Deer Island facility and to improved environmental protection for 43 cities and towns in Eastern Massachusetts.

Kenneth married Frances (Frannie) Yvonne Sesisto of Malden, Massachusetts on August 9, 1985. They moved to The Villages in 2004 where they continued their love of golf, dancing and jogging.

Kenneth felt blessed by the many close friends he made in The Villages. He was a good and kind man who cared deeply for his friends and family. He will be missed by all who were fortunate to have known him.

Kenneth is now with his Lord. His Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM, Monday, March 9, 2026 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Wildwood, Florida. Memorial donations in Kenneth's name may be made to Cornerstone Hospice House, 601 Casa Bella, The Villages, FL 32162
