Kenneth Sive Obituary

Kenneth John Charles Sive, age 84, of Hinsdale, IL, went home to the Lord on October 31, 2022. Surrounded with love from his wife and children, Ken passed peacefully into eternal rest.

Born in St. Paul MN to Charles and Ann (Schultz) Sive, Ken is one of five siblings. Ken attended Central Catholic High School in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he was Student Council President and a standout offensive and defensive guard on the football team, as his leadership skills and tireless work ethic defined him. He attended the University of Notre Dame as an ROTC candidate and earned his bachelor's degree in Economics in 1960. Ken married his high-school sweetheart, Sharon Rooney, on December 26th, 1959, at the Log Chapel at Notre Dame. After graduating college, Ken served in the Army for 2 years and then went to work for Hallmark Cards in Marketing, Sales, and Personnel where he spent his entire 39-year career, rising through the ranks to become a Senior Vice President and retiring in 2001. Along the way he earned his master's degree from Pepperdine University and guest lectured at his beloved Notre Dame.

Ken is the loving husband of 62 years to Sharon Sive (Rooney), cherished father of Kelly (Daniel) Paxson, Kara (John) Helliwell, Bradley (Natalie) Sive and beloved grandfather of Jack, Katie, Andrew, Henry, Genevieve, Charlie, and Emma. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Sive III.
