Skottegard, Kenneth Walter Age 87, of Columbia SC and more recently from Savage MN passed away May 17, 2012. Preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Peggy, his parents Hans and Bertha, sister Helene, brothers Milton and Donald, and son Mark. Ken served in WWII in the Army Air Force, in Florida as an Assistant Attorney General, in the FBI as an agent, in Florida and SC as a manager of a security company, and in SC as a private investigator. Ken will mostly be remembered for his uniquely outgoing and lovingly fun nature. Ken took every available opportunity to meet new people, including complete strangers, with an outstretched hand, a kind word and sincere joy; becoming close friends within minutes with every Smiley, Tiger, and Daphne Lipshits he met. Surviving children are Christopher and Zaida Skottegard of Burnsville, MN, and their children, son Brent and daughter Kyla, Starr Pollock and her husband, Drew, of Marietta, GA, and their children, daughter Abby and son Charlie, Peter Skottegard and Dawn Greenwald of Mason, OH, and their children, daughters, Keren, Jette, and Anikka and son Erik, close family friend Marilyn Derrick and her daughter Denise, and many more relatives and close friends.
