Kenneth Sluss Obituary

Kenneth B. Sluss, age 90, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, entered Heaven's gate Sunday morning in the Pines Nursing Home. He was born September 10, 1920 in Louisville, Ohio son of the late Arthur and Mildred (Rinehart) Sluss. He was a graduate of North Canton High School class of 1938 and proudly served our country in the United States Army during WWII. Kenneth retired in 1985 from the Hoover Company following 45 years of service. He was a former deacon of Mt. Pleasant Church of the Brethren and member of Grace Brethren Church of North Canton, member of Greentown American Legion and the Greater Canton Amateur Sports Hall of Fame. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Joyce (Holl) Sluss. Survivors include his four children; Thomas (Donna) Sluss of North Canton, Larry (Lois Bell) Sluss of Roswell, GA., Rebecca (Robert) Slutz of East Sparta and Carol Hill of North Canton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two step grandchildren and brother, Paul Sluss of North Canton. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the caring staff at Harbor Light Hospice and the Pines Nursing Home for the kindness and compassion they have shown. Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday at 10:00am in the Reed Funeral Home North Canton Chapel, 801 Pittsburg Ave. N.W. with Paul Davidson officiating. Interment will be in North Canton Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Tuesday evening from 6-8pm and one hour prior to the service from 9-10am on Wednesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in his name to Harbor Light Hospice, 25 S. Main Street, Suite 207 Munroe Falls, OH 44262
