Kenneth Smith Obituary

Kenneth Joseph Smith, 54, of Plum Borough, passed away after an incredibly brave and unwavering eight-year battle with cancer on Friday, May 23, 2025. Kenny was the son of Ken and Geraldine (Mollica) Smith. Kenny was a proud member of Plum High School class of 1989, where he was a three-time varsity football player and played an instrumental role in leading the Plum baseball team to victory in the 1988 WPIAL Championship. Following high school, Kenny attended Duquesne University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology and played football for the Dukes. Kenny's greatest joy in life was spending time with his children and family. Kenny is survived by his children, Rayla, Malayna, and Kenny Smith; his sisters, Lisa Kindler (J.D.) and Danielle Ferracano (Anthony); and his nieces, Kaylie, Alexi, Jayden Kindler, and Paisley, Kinsley, and Brayley Ferracano.

We all are deeply saddened to hear of Ken's passing on Hillman 3rd Floor. It was truly an honor to care for him during his treatment. I will always remember him for his strength and love for his kids. Please know that all of you, especially his mother-who was with him for every single treatment day are in my thoughts and prayers.
