It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Ray Sodko, who passed away at his home in Richview, IL, on Friday, September 12, 2025, at 8:44 A.M. He had attained the age of 79 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Kenny was born in St. Louis, MO on December 14, 1945, the son of Thomas and Mary (Povolish) Sodko. Kenny would later be united in marriage to Marcia Schleifer at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL in June of 1967, and she preceded him in death on August 9, 2019.
Kenny graduated from Ashley High School in 1963. He went on to serve with the Army National Guard from 1965 to 1971. Over the years Kenny had worked at; Dowzer Electric, the Ashley Chocolate Factory, Leaf North American as a maintenance employee, Nashville High School as a custodian, and Walmart in Mt. Vernon in the sporting goods department. Kenny served as mayor of Richview, IL for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and volunteered as the master firearm safety instructor for hunter safety courses in Washington County and most recently worked for the Illinois Department of Natural Resources teaching fishing classes to all ages. Kenny was a member of the American Legion Post 110 of Nashville, served as 1st Vice President with the Illinois Wildlife Federation, and held various positions over the years with the Washington County Sportsman Club.
Left to mourn his passing are his two children; son, Matthew Sodko and wife Jamie of
Ashley, IL and daughter, Michelle Lundegreen and husband Marshall of Mt. Vernon, IL; brother, Paul Sodko and wife Bernadine of St. Louis, MO; his four grandsons, Brendan Sodko, Landen Lundegreen, Kentan Lundegreen, and Brier Sodko and many relatives and friends.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Per the wishes of Kenny and his family, cremation will be performed, and a Celebration of Life will be held at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville, IL, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at 11 A.M. Burial of Ashes will be held at a later date.
Friends may call at the Campagna Funeral Home in Nashville on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 9 A.M. till the service hour.
Should friends desire, memorials can be made to the Washington County Sportsman Club or Richview Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home.
