Kenneth A. Strohbehn, age 73, of Treynor, Iowa, passed away at CHI Mercy Hospital on March 19, 2024.
He was born November 9, 1950, to the late Leonard and Elsie (Schmidt) Strohbehn in Council Bluffs, IA. Kenneth graduated from Treynor High School and was lifelong farmer. Kenny had a deep love of all things AG. He took over the family farm at a very young age due to the sudden death of his father, Leonard. He had a love of caring for livestock. In his younger years he enjoyed pulling at tractor pulls, where he won multiple events. At Westfair, he connected with Julie, where he was very deeply involved. He also had a very fond love of muscle cars and enjoyed telling stories about all of the ones he had owned over the years. Kenny was an avid pilot of his Cessna. He and Julie took multiple trips together across the Midwest. He shared his love of water sports with a lot of family and friends. You could never fail to find him around the water in the summer. He passed this love on to his young family over the years, where they all spent countless hours enjoying the water together. Whenever there was a community event in Treynor you would always find Kenny there with a smile on his face and a hand to lend. Over the years he held multiple leadership positions within the local community including the Zion church, CO-OP, Westfair and 4-H. He was a proud husband, father, and grandpa. His stories and conversations will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gordon Strohbehn.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julianne Strohbehn; sons, Kevin (Alicia) Strohbehn, Kurtis Strohbehn, and Kyle (Emily) Strohbehn; brother and sister-in-law, Bryce and Kim Strohbehn; grandchildren, Gabriel Strohbehn and Lane Strohbehn; siblings-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, March 24, 2024. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM at Zion Congregation Church in Treynor on Monday, March 25, 2024.
Interment will be in the Zion Congregational Church Cemetery in Treynor. The family will direct memorials in Kenny's honor.
