Kenneth Maynard Thompson, age 87, beautifully passed away on January 29th, 2026, in Chetek, WI.
Ken was born on March 27, 1938, to Edwin and Myrtle Thompson in Chetek, Wisconsin. He attended Chetek High School and married his high school sweetheart, Shirley A. Kraskiewicz, on August 1st, 1955.
Ken worked as a machinist most of his working life, making daily trips for many years to the Twin Cities. Providing for his family was the most important thing for Ken.
Ken joins those who were waiting for him: his wife Shirley of 64 years, 3 daughters, Diane, Heidi, and Mary, his parents, 3 brothers, and a sister.
With Shirley by his side, they will wait for those yet to join them: Son Gregory (John) Thompson, Daughter Susan (Bill) Carroll, son Jeffery Thompson, son David (Jeff) Thompson, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
To honor Ken’s wishes, a private service will be held at a later date.
The family offers many thanks to Marshfield Medical Center Hospice and Just Like Home Assisted Living for their kind, compassionate care.
The Burnham-Ours- Kolstad Family Funeral Home of Chetek has been entrusted with arrangements.
