Kenneth LaVerle Topping, 87, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2025, at Hiawatha Care Center, Hiawatha, Iowa. Memorial Service: 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, 2025, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids with visitation to begin one hour prior. Burial with military honors will immediately follow the service at Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Ken was born October 28, 1937, in Ryan, Iowa, the son of LaVerle and Iva (Kemp) Topping. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. On September 20, 1959, Ken was united in marriage to Patricia Bark at St. James United Methodist Church in Cedar Rapids. He retired from Diamond V after 30+ years of dedicated service. Ken was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed square dancing, gardening, baking, boating, and going to the casino.
Survivors include his daughter, Pam (Mike) Grecian; grandchildren, Joshua and Jared Hanson, Melissa (Zach) Saylor, and Alex Mitchell; and great-grandchild, Scarlett Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia and daughter, Kelly.
Memorials may be directed to Hiawatha Care Center in Ken’s honor.
