Kenneth R. Underly, 69 years old, passed away at 9:12 a.m. on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his home. Kenny was born on July 30, 1951 in South Bend to the late Jack Richard and Betty Jane (Brown) Underly. He has remained a lifelong resident. On November 1, 1991 in South Bend, Kenny and Margo Jane Lee were united in marriage.
Along with Margo, his loving wife of 29 years, Kenny is survived by two daughters, Kacie (Tim) Suetkamp of Mishawaka and Melissa (Elvis) Konkol of Mishawaka; stepdaughter, Andrea (Tony) Favilla of Granger; stepsons, Jason Kaser of North Liberty and Shannon Kaser of Edwardsburg; ten grandchildren, Gage, Gavin, Bella, Justin, Jalen, Carter, Hudson, Lily, Nicholas, and Isabel; three great-grandchildren, Damian, Cali, and Cameron; his sister, Carol (Dan, Sr.) VandeZande of South Bend; and half-sister, Debbie (Mark) Stapleton of Florida. Kenny is also survived by his nephews, Jason VandeZande, Danny (Michelle) VandeZande, and Ryan; nieces, Shauna and Denise; along with his four-legged friend, Louie. Kenny was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua; and two brothers, David Lee Underly and James Edward Underly.
Kenny retired after over 30 years of employment from Honeywell. After retirement, he enjoyed working part-time at Royal Excursion. He was a Union Steward and member of UAW Local #9. Kenny was an incredible cook, always wanting to feed everyone and he made the best cheesecake. He served his country with the Peace Corps. One of Kenny's famous quotes was “Can't do it all!”
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 14, 2020 at the Palmer Funeral Home-Bubb Chapel, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka. Pastor Ryan Searfoss will officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. Friends may visit with the family from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Kenneth R. Underly may be donated to Hope Rescue Mission, 432 S. Lafayette Blvd., South Bend, IN 46601. Online condolences can be offered to the Underly family at www.palmerfuneralhomes.com.

When i started to work at Royal Excursion Kenny made me feel welcomed and he was always ready to help out by running for parts or supplies, even if he wasn't working. In the 4 years I was in Indiana we became good friends. Rest in peace my friend and God Bless your entire family.

I'm so sorry to hear this about Kenny, I am a first cousin to Kenny. We never have met but I'm sad and I'm sure he will be missed by his family. I'm the son of Harold M Brown, Harold & Annie Bagwell, Cushing,Oklahoma.
