Kenneth Weaver Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Spidell Funeral Homes, Inc. - Brewster on Feb. 6, 2026.
Kenneth Eugene Weaver, 65, of Apple Creek, died peacefully at his home on February 4, 2026, surrounded by his wife, children, and sisters.

Ken was born March 31, 1960, in Wooster, Ohio, the son of Ben and Ada Mae (Hershberger) Weaver. He graduated from Central Christian High School in 1978 and went on to a career in homebuilding that spanned forty-five years.

In 1981, Ken married Joyce (Lehman) Weaver in Kidron, Ohio. Together they raised three children: Andrea (Luke) Martin, John (Jessica) Weaver, and Bryan (Veronica) Weaver. Ken was a proud and devoted grandfather to six grandchildren: Liam and Judah Martin, and Madeline, Olivia, Elijah, and Ava Weaver.

Ken is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joyce; his children and grandchildren; his sisters, Diann (Gary) Miller, Rose Hile, Sue (Ron) Wenger; his sister-in-law, Carol Weaver; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ben; his brother, John; and his brother-in-law, Jimmy Hile.

Ken spent his life building-homes, businesses, relationships, and people. Most recently, he owned and operated Capstone Custom Homes alongside his children, having retired from daily operations in recent years. Previously, Ken served as an owner and president of Weaver Custom Homes, a company founded by his father, Ben, in 1979. Drawing from the years he worked alongside his father, Ken took great pride in training his own children in the same manner. Known for his leadership, drive, and vision, Ken built a legacy as an entrepreneur, mentor, and builder whose influence reached far beyond the jobsite.

A visionary at heart, Ken advised and mentored numerous business startups and was an avid entrepreneur himself. He founded a nonprofit organization to support missions locally and abroad and served on several nonprofit boards. His generosity was quiet but far-reaching, guided by a desire to help others succeed.

Ken loved Jesus and spoke openly about his faith, often spending hours in meaningful conversations with friends over coffee or breakfast. His faith shaped his life, his marriage, and the way he loved those around him.

Family was central to Ken's life. He cherished time spent traveling, hunting, vacationing, and gathering at the family cabin. He especially loved riding his motorcycle, traveling thousands of miles with Joyce, his sons, cousins, and close friends-using each trip as an opportunity to make memories in beautiful places across the country.

Ken was known for his kindness, generosity, leadership, and unwavering love for his family. He could be ornery at times, but it was always paired with warmth, humor, and a deep commitment to the people he cared about. He loved well, lived with purpose, and left a lasting mark on all who knew him.

A private family graveside service was held at Kidron Mennonite Church.

Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life at Greystone Event Center, 50 Riffel Rd., Wooster, on Sunday, March 1, 2026. The open-house style gathering will be held from 2:00-5:00 p.m., with a short ceremony at 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.

Anne and I mourn you brother.
You are a loyal friend and a true brother. Knowing you for over 25 years seems like a short time. Thank you for many other friends we made through you. Your visits to our home in Kenya, in Cincinnati , Ohio and your phone calls to Texas and more spoke volumes of your love.
Thank you for letting us visit you in 2025. We did not imagine it was our God given time to say farewell to you

Indeed you are in God´s loving arms as you rest with Jesus and the angels but greatly missed on this side of the sun.
Fare thee well my brother Ken. You fought a good fight, you finished the race, you kept the faith.
