Kennija Ware, 32, of Lynchburg, Virginia passed away on January 24, 2026. He was the beloved son of Kenneth Ware, Sr. and Rena Calloway.
Born on January 5, 1994, in Lynchburg, Virginia, Kennija received his education in Lynchburg from Heritage High School. During his school years, he developed a deep love for football, a passion that brought him joy, lifelong friendships, and cherished memories. He continued his academic journey at Ferrum College and later built a professional career with the International Institutions Group. Accepting Christ at early age, he became a member at Prayer of Faith Church.
Kennija leaves to cherish his beloved son, Nasiah Fleshman; his brother, Kenneth Ware Jr.; and a host of dear aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends who will forever carry his spirit in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Hubert Tyler Sr, Tommy Ware Sr. and Dorothy Ware; and his aunts, Densie Ware, Deborah Anderson, Jacqueline Calloway, Toyna Calloway, and Brandy Calloway. One Uncle Ronald Calloway. He cherished time spent with family and friends and was happiest when surrounded by those he loved.
Kennija also had a passion for traveling and sightseeing, inspiration in experiencing the beauty of God’s creations around the world.
A funeral service celebrating the life of Kennija Kayyon Ware will be held on February 2, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Prayer of Faith Church, with Reverend Ceasor T. Johnson officiating.
