A Bardstown resident, Mr. Kenny Lowell "Ken" Haverly, Sr., age 77, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at Jewish Hospital in Louisville. He was born April 3, 1948, in Manchester, Kentucky to Thelma Mae Hyde and Kenneth Hammons. Ken was a retired President and general manager for FET Engineering, was an industrial engineer for Owens Illinois and was a United States Army Veteran. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and playing volleyball. He was an active member of the volleyball community from 1982-2019 and he was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Lynn Haverly, his father, Kenneth Hammons and his adoptive father, Howard Leo Haverly. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jill Lee Haverly, his son, Kenny Lowell (Shannon) Haverly, Jr. of Balltown, his daughter, Elizabeth Michelle (Dave) Hoggard of North Carolina, his mother, Thelma Mae Haverly of Louisville, 3 grandchildren, Jasmine Haverly, Elijah Hoggard and Leah Rose Haverly, 8 siblings, Steve (Libby) Haverly of Atlanta, GA., Douglas Haverly of Louisville, David (Gale) Haverly of Taylorsville, Sandra (Mark) Mills of Louisville, Ann (Rob) Bowlds of Oldham Co., Gregory (Stacey) Haverly, Todd Haverly, Brad (Jen) Haverly, all of Louisville, and his half-brother, Blane Hammons of Ohio. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral Services for Mr. Kenny Haverly, Sr. will be 1:00 pm, Thursday, July 17, 2025, at Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home, Kenny Haverly, Jr. officiating. Interment will be in Cox's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 16, 2025, and after 12:00 pm Thursday until time of service. The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
