Kenneth “Kenny” J. Gros, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away on September 18, 2025. He was 58 years old. A resident of Harvey, LA leaves behind his beloved wife of 22 years, Shelly Boudreaux Gros, his loving daughter Kelsey Slater (Mark) and his cherished two-year old granddaughter, Savannah. He’s preceded in death by his parents Howard P. Gros and DeAnna Mae Berry and his Mother-In-Law Patricia Blanchard Boudreaux. From an early age, Kenny embodied hard work and a steadfast work ethic dedicating over 39 years to Bay/ Mosby and GIS, Lafitte advancing from a helper up to Yard Superintendent. Whether on the job or at home, he approached every task with patience and care, and there was nothing he couldn’t do. He loved building things – projects big and small – always creating with his hands and his heart. Kenny was also a lifetime member and brother to the New Born Masonic Lodge, #500, F&AM Marrero. To know Kenny was to love Kenny. His selfless nature and soft-spoken presence made everyone around him feel steady and loved. He loved watching his Saints play on Sundays, as well as Nascar on the weekends and taking family vacations. His family was the most important aspect of his life and above all he loved his girls: Shelly, Kelsey and Savannah more than anything. While his passing has left a void in the hearts of his family, friends, and those whose lives were touched by him. We ask that you remember him not for the way his life ended, but for the way it was lived, and for the profound impact it had on the lives of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. May he rest in peace and may perpetual light shine upon him. He will be missed by so many. Visitation will be held at St. Cletus Church, 3600 Claire Avenue, Gretna, LA on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10:00 am, a Memorial Mass to follow.
