Kent Grotz Obituary

Kent was born in Sheridan, Wyoming in 1948 and passed away December 30, 2014 in Camarines Sur, Phillipines.
He graduated from Sheridan High School in 1966. He then attended the Rapid City College of Business. He joined the US Marine Corp in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1972 and returned home and worked at the Central Garage. He married Gorgionia (Cora) Poja  of the Phillipines in 1972. He later joined the US Navy and was stationed in the Phillipines where he remained after honorable discharge from the Navy.
Kent and Cora had three children.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents, Andy and Leona Grotz, daughter, Crisanta Joy in 2003 and brother George Grotz in 2004. He is survived by wife Cora, daughter Kenna Grotz Park of Oregon, son Steven Grotz of the Phillipines and stepchildren Joseph Oconer, Josephine Reyes, Jocelyn Payongayong, Jenifer Castro and Jerry Oconer. He is also survived by two sisters, Sharon (Sha) Troutt and Sherri Read, both of Sheridan and one stepbrother, John Grotz of Minnesota as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held January 9, 2015 in the Phillipines.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Kent's life will be held at the VFW on Saturday January 17 at 6pm.

Just ran across this. Kent was a wonderful friend. I worked with Kent in H&MS-15 Com/Nav in 1971-72. The picture is one I took in December 1971 or March 1972
at NAS Cubi Point, PI when we were deployed with VMFA-232.
