He honorably served his country in the United States Navy from April 4, 1966, until January 13, 1970, achieving the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class. Kent attended Calvary United Methodist Church and was actively involved in his community as a member of the American Legion Post 384 of Milford, Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever.
In his free time, Kent found joy in duck carving, duck hunting, pheasant hunting and bullhead fishing in early spring. He was known for his tomato plants, which he nurtured every summer and generously shared with neighbors and those passing by. Alongside his neighbor, Ivan, he delighted in coming up with a “new invention”.
