Kent P. Recklein, 67, of Caseyville, IL, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at his home in Caseyville, IL.
He was born on June 29, 1957, in Belleville, IL, to Paul E. and Harlene E. (nee Schardan) Recklein. On July 23, 1976, he married the love of his life, Marilyn Shaffer, in Collinsville, IL.
For his entire life, Kent found purpose under the hood of a car or beside a motorcycle. A natural with tools in his hands, he spent his days in the garage-his favorite place-fixing engines or restoring old bikes. He believed in doing things right, and he took pride in every job, big or small.
But more than machines, Kent loved his family. When he wasn't in the garage, he was at home-laughing around the dinner table, offering a helping hand, or simply enjoying the company of those closest to him. He was the kind of man who showed his love through action, always ready to lend support, crack a joke, or be there when it mattered most.
He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 37 years, Marilyn Recklein; parents, Paul E. and Harlene E. Recklein; brothers, Hal-Jeffrey Recklein, Stephen D. Recklein.
Kent is survived by his children, Kent J. (Corrie) Recklein, Keith J. (Dani) Recklein, Amanda (Jason) Hare; grandchildren, Elijah Perkins, Stephanie Recklein, Logan Perkins, Von Recklein, Kylie Hudson, Hayden Recklein, Elijah Recklein, Carlee Hudson, Katelyn Marler, Colin Marler, Dilon Hare, Victoria Hare; great-grandchildren, Remington, Riley, Jameson, Finley, Asher, Reed; siblings Keith E. (Ann) Recklein, Perry M. (Charmaine) Recklein, Julie (Michael) Connor, Marcee (John) Santen; numerous nieces, nephews, and many loving friends.
Memorials may be made to the Recklein Family.
