It is with heavy hearts that we announce Kenyan Nelson, age 24 of Cottage Grove, MN passed away on Thursday, June 26, 2025.
Kenyan David Nelson was born on November 13, 2000 to Steven Nelson and Kimberly Briggs in Hastings, Minnesota. He grew up in Cottage Grove and graduated from Park High School in 2019. He enjoyed spending time with his siblings, playing video games especially Xbox, and playing his guitar. Kenyan will be remembered for his big heart, his entertaining moments of dry humor and the goofy sound effects he shared with his sister Sierrah. Kenyan was known for his kind, giving spirit. He will be missed more than words can say by his family and friends.
Kenyan is survived by his dad Steven Nelson (Sandi Bondhus); mom Kimberly Wolf (Dave Wolf); siblings Sierrah Nelson, Riley Wolf, Dacotah Wolf, Savannah Wolf, Zoe Speikers and Halle Speikers; grandparents Astrid Nelson, David and Linda Nelson, George Briggs, Tom and Janette Wolf; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Kenyan is preceded in death by his grandma Colleen Kettner.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 7, 2025 at Kok Funeral Home, 7676 80th St. S.; Cottage Grove, MN with a visitation from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Everyone is invited to gather after the service for a reception at Steven Nelson's home - 6653 96th Street S.; Cottage Grove, MN.
