Kenyon Ray Obituary

Kenyon DeWayne Ray, known to all as Kenny, 70, St. Clair, departed this life in his home Monday, May 5, 2025.

Kenny was born in St. Louis, Missouri, Oct. 17, 1954, son of William David Ray and Wanda Lee Ray nee Bryan. On Sept. 23, 1972, he was united in marriage to Sandra Lee Holliday and three daughters came to bless this union.

Kenny is survived by his wife, Sandra Ray, St. Clair; his daughters, Brandie Angel and husband Bill, Waynesville, Missouri, Shannon Geiger and husband Matt, Washington, Missouri and Amanda Gerber and husband Scott, St. Clair; his brothers, Jimmy Ray and wife Barb, Rosebud, and Steven Ray and wife Denise, St. Peters; his sisters, Lola Ray, St. Peters, and Patty Read and husband Paul, O'Fallon, Missouri; his grandchildren, Taylor Angel, Cheyenne Angel, Montana Angel, Elisabeth Angel, Allison Geiger, Ryan Geiger, Hannah Gerber and Theodore Gerber; his great-grandchildren, Addilynn, Kinslee, Oliver, Octavia and with Lincoln on the way; by brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great- and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, William and Wanda Ray.

Kenny was a machinist by trade and was employed by South Side Machine Works in St. Louis, retiring after thirty-six years of service to the company. He was a proud member of Machinist Union District 9 in St. Louis. Kenny enjoyed going hunting and fishing and had a special fondness for dogs, Vinny and Ace. What meant most to him was time spent with family. His children and grandchildren held a very special place in his heart, as he did in theirs. The love they shared and many precious memories they created together will be cherished by them all forever.

A kind and loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great- and great-great-uncle, cousin and treasured friend, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Saturday, May 10, with the funeral services following at 2 p.m., at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair, with Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating. A private committal will take place at a later date.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Sandy and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Remember, his last breath on Earth was also his first breath in Heaven. I´m sorry I won´t be able to attend Kenny´s service, but I will be thinking about you all.
