Kermit F. "Kermie" Morris, age 98, of Cecil, passed away on Wednesday April 23, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on April 11, 1927, in Oconto Falls, son of the late Frank and Louise Morris. Kermie was a graduate of Oconto Falls High School. In 1949, he married Esther Hanelt who later passed in 2022. Kermie loved to work, he and Esther bought their farm in Advance in 1951, and dedicated their lives to making it prosper. Most of all he loved his family, his children always came first.
Kermie also loved playing sheepshead and was very good at it. He was a very good polka dancer and in their younger years, he and Esther would travel all over Wisconsin to enjoy a good band.
Kermie is survived by his three children and their spouses, Darold (Connie) Morris, Shawano, Darla (Rick) Alsteen, Crooked Lake, and Dale (Cindy) Morris, Cecil; daughter-in-law, Wendy Morris, Shawano; seven grandchildren, Nathan (Marissa) Morris, Jenny (Bruce) Morris, Anne Morris, Julie (Firas) Morris, Peter Morris, Jeremy Morris, and Alan (Katie) Morris; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.
Kermie is preceded in death by: his wife Esther; his parents; one son, Dennis Morris; two grandchildren, Rodney Morris and Laura Ragland; and two sisters, Arlene and Marion.
A funeral service for Kermie will be held at 11:30 am on Friday May 2, 2025, at St. Casimir Catholic Church 146 Park Street Krakow with Fr. James Vacco officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 10:00 am until the time of service. Burial will be held at St. Anthony Cemetery in Oconto Falls.
