Mr. Kermit Durant Pruitt

Mr. Kermit D. Pruitt, 90, of Goldsboro Rd. Wade died Saturday September 11, 2010 at Bethesda Health Care in Eastover. Mr. Pruitt was born March 10, 1920 in Exum, N.C. son of the late Oscar D, Pruitt and Caroiine Evans Pruitt. He was retired from Civil Service and had served i the U.S. Army and national Guard in WW II and the Korean War. Mr. Pruitt was past master and a member for over fifty years of the Stedman masonic Lodge # 730 AF & Am. He was fromer secretary of Gideons International the Fayetteville East Camp abd was very involved in their prison ministry and also was volumteer for Operation blessing with 700 club. He was a member of Center Baptist Church where he had been a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and Honorary Deacon. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday at 2 P.M. at Center Baptist Church with Rev. John Jones and Rev. Roger White Officiating. Burial will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park in Fayetteville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Carl Pruitt, sisters, Willa Ward, Rachel Inman and Sally Smith. Surviving: Wife: Violet Newman Pruitt of the home. 4 Sons: Kermit L. Pruitt of Wade, N.C., Durant Pruitt of Wade, N.C. , John Pruitt of Hope Mills, N.C., Anthony Ray Pruitt Wisonsin. 2 Daughters: Donna Gail Collier Wade, N.C. and Melanie Jean Lee of Parkton, N.C, Sister: Lear Wigner of Wilmington, N.C. 6 Grandchildren, 5 Step-Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren & 6 Step- Great Grandchildren. The family will receive friends 6-9 pm Monday at the Center Baptist Church, Wade- Stedman Rd., in Wade, N.C. Memorials may be made to Gideons International, P.O.
