Evelyn Mae Gray

Evelyn Mae Gray, 86 formerly of Amboy and Manlius, died Tuesday July 23, 2019 at Heritage Woods in Sterling. She was born on June 12, 1933 in Columbus, OH the daughter of Chris and Catherine (Simcox) George. She married Dewey Gray on August 28, 1958 in Miami, FL. He died June 20, 2016. Evelyn was a devout Christian and loved to tend to her flowers and garden. Survivors include two daughters: Lora (Gary) Peugh of Rock Falls and Teri Gray of Sterling; her brother Eugene D. George of Sterling; 2 grandchildren, Gregory (Sonrisa) Bontz and Eric (Stacey) Bontz; 6 great grandchildren: Paige Bontz, Kiersten Bontz, Stella Bontz, Elise Bontz, Connor Bontz and Echo Bontz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her son, Michael Gray. Cremation rites have been accorded with the McDonald Funeral Home and Crematory in Rock Falls. A celebration of life will take place at Centennial Park, Sunday, August 11, 2019 at 1:00 P.M.
