Ronald Karsten "Kerry" Woods, of Lima, cherished son, brother, uncle and friend, passed peacefully in his sleep on July 1, 2025 at the age of 55. He was born on May 10, 1970 in Waynesburg, PA to Earlene (Marty) Wagner of Lima and the late Ronald W. Woods.
Kerry graduated from Lima Central Catholic High School in 1988. He then served his country in the US Navy as a Machinist Mate aboard the USS Joseph Hewes. In 1992, he began a lifelong career at Washam Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning where he was often requested by name. Kerry was known for his sense of humor, his love for friends and family, his outstanding red velvet cake, and his devotion to the Michigan Wolverines.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Earlene and Marty Wagner of Lima; stepmother Bette Woods of Bellevue, sisters – Becki (Linda Kennedy) Woods of Columbus and Jill (Dusty) Garig of Waco, TX, nephews and nieces Carl (Brittni), Chelsea (Adam), Jasmine, and Clayton; great-nephews and nieces: Xander, Owen, Adalyn and Dutch, close friends Shannon and Juan Marval and family, several aunts and uncles, and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father Ronald W. Woods, grandparents Clayton and Juanita Woods, Earl and Arlene Gannon, Jack Wagner, Carolyn and Bob Snider, uncles Pete Gannon, Dennis Gannon, Jerry Follrod, Joe Wagner, and aunt Virginia Mitchell.
Please dress casually and sport your favorite college team attire. If you are an Ohio State fan it is acceptable to wear maize and blue in tribute to Kerry.
Funeral services will begin 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home. Charlotte Heffner will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima. Military rites will be observed by V.F.W. Post 1275 of Lima.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 – 1:00 p.m., Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Deb's Dogs, 1560 Wonderlick Road, Lima, OH 45805.
