Kevan J. Stempf

Kevan J. Stempf, 62, of Ladysmith, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, June
5, 2024 after an illness of two years. He was born June 18, 1961 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John D. and Marian (Hoeft) Stempf.
He is survived by his mother, Marian Weber, of Ladysmith; three sisters, Kathryn Stempf of Bruce, Emily
Corbin of Ladysmith, and Laura (Lucas) Peterson of Centennial, Colorado; a nephew, Mitchell Corbin of
Eau Claire; two nieces: Amanda (Travis) Waller of Ladysmith and Candace (Adam) Herkert of Marshfield;
two great-nieces; an uncle; an aunt; and many cousins. He was predeceased by his father; grandparents;
many aunts, uncles, cousins; and a brother-in-law.
Kevan graduated from Ladysmith High School in 1980 and completed a year of Machine Tool at Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College in Rice Lake before entering the workforce. Locally, he painted
at Balko Boat Trailers, sprayed glue in the assembly of doors at Weathershield Mfg., packaged and
delivered seed at Wymore Farms, was a molders assistant and secondary op at Rockwell Automation, performed customer service at the meat counter in Ladysmith Fresh Market, and worked in production
at Jeld-Wen.
He enjoyed the beauty and tranquility of nature, yet he was fascinated with technology. He was a real
handyman that could do almost everything without assistance, yet he was willing to lend a helping hand
to others.
Faith, family, and friends were important to Kevan. He found his church family at Good Shepherd
Lutheran Church of Tony. He enjoyed traveling to reunions and visiting with family and friends. He was
grateful to the Alano Club and his sponsor for helping him overcome his addiction to alcohol.
A memorial service /celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, in the Bloedow Room in the lower level of Rusk County Community Library of Ladysmith, Wisconsin. Visitation will be one hour prior to the 11 a.m. service. Lunch will be at noon. Interment will be in the Bruce Cemetery.
