Kevin John Burton

Kevin J. Burton passed away, returning to his Heavenly Home, on January 9, 2026 peacefully at home with his loved ones after a courageous, long battle with cancer.

Kevin J. Burton was born on June 8, 1973 to Martin John Burton and Anarene Randall Burton. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin John Burton, his mother, Anarene Randall Burton and his sister, Sharleen Breese (Norman). He is survived by his wife, Tiffani Lynn Aird Burton, his children Rilla Faye Burton Walker (Colby husband and daughter Anarene), Mary Josephine Perez Burton (Adolfo), Abbigehle Lee Burton, Daniel John Burton. Kevin is the sixth of 7 siblings and is survived by the following members of his birth family: Joani (Greg) Shaw, Diane (Tony) Mallory, Cherie (Dave) Musacchia, Marsha (Larry) Hill, Monica (Aaron) McCombs.

Kevin had a lifelong best friend, Aaron Vernon. In his relationship with Aaron as a boy, he found the brotherhood that was missing in a household of which he had six sisters. Their friendship has remained strong throughout the decades.

Kevin had a remarkable gift for making friends. He loved to talk. He could talk to anyone about any item of interest and Kevin had many interests in his life. He was incredibly devoted to service to others, and his talents and friendship will be missed by many.

Kevin grew up in Salt Lake City in the Canyon Rim (East Millcreek) area. Kevin attended Olympus High School and graduated in 1991. He served a full time mission in St. Louis, Missouri.

Kevin married Tiffani Lynn Aird in the Salt Lake Temple on March 9, 1996. Kevin and Tiffani both met at a singles ward activity. Upon asking her out, her reply was "no." Eventually, they had an "awful" first date, which was followed by regular Temple attendance where Tiffani fell in love with Kevin. Their courtship and marriage consisted of companionship, commitment and devotion to each other every day for almost 30 years. They were a team in raising their four children, found joy in their beautiful granddaughter, Anarene Eliza Walker and growing family unit. As a united team they faced life's many challenges together. When the diagnosis of cancer came for Kevin, they made a decision that they would tighten their bond and cherish their relationship to a greater degree.

Kevin created and enjoyed many projects. As a child he enjoyed, sometimes to his parent's dismay, taking things apart. He wanted to figure out how everything worked. This was a lifelong interest which started as a toddler by taking the knobs off the piano cover and cabinets in the home. He took apart every electronic device since they became available to him. He was a self taught learner and a creative problem solver, a strength which he later used to gain employment to provide for his family.

Kevin worked as technical support for various companies throughout his career. He worked many years for Jtech medical, Motorola, and finished with JP Morgan. He built many friendships and loved talking to customers as well as coworkers.

Kevin had an incredible work ethic. He enjoyed working to provide for his family, often working more than one job to meet their needs. He donated plasma for 18 years. He was amazing at buying and selling for a profit. He loved yard sales and was delighted with Facebook marketplace.

Kevin loved to laugh. He tried to get others around him to laugh with him. He was often the center of attention in every room. He spread joy wherever he was and whatever he was doing. He was always doing something. He had a busy mind and body. Service was his love language. He bonded with friends and family by fixing cars and computers for them.

Kevin found joy in repairing things. He loved computers, and was constantly working on several at a time. He would often repair them for others intending this as an enjoyable 3rd job to bring in money. However, he valued relationships over money. Therefore, in his repair work, for anyone in need, he often did it for free, or donated a computer to someone in need.

Another one of Kevin's hobbies was working on cars. He loved cars. He loved to drive them, and discover how each component of every vehicle worked. If your car was having any kind of trouble, all you had to do was call Kevin. You could give a verbal descriptions of the car's funky noise, and he could often diagnose the problem correctly.

Because of Kevin's ability to make friends and network, he always "knew a guy." If you had a need for most anything: items around your home, repair work, professional services, Kevin had a recommendation for someone who had gained his trust.

Kevin's values included a pure love and appreciation of God, love of family, devotion to others, loyalty in his friends, and ability to see others as children of God regardless of their religious beliefs.

The Burton Family wishes to thank all those who have given moral, financial, culinary, medical and other support over the last few years as Kevin and Tiffani have walked a difficult path.

Visitation will be held on January 16th, 2026 at 10am. The location will be the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 25 S 200 E Kaysville, Utah. The funeral will start at 11am.
