Kevin Diffley

Diffley, Kevin J., of West Greenwich, formerly of Warwick, passed in the comfort of his home on Sunday, January 25, 2009, surrounded by his family. Born on October 10, 1955, in Providence, he was the son of the late Kathleen Diffley. He met and married the love of his life Robin (Austin) Diffley in the fall of 1976. They were married for 28 years. Kevin was the proud father of Colleen Y. Diffley or "Doobie" as he called her and Patrick S. Diffley and his wife Sacha. He also had two wonderful grandchildren, Kayla and Kamden Diffley. Kevin also leaves behind his sisters, Patricia Carpenter of Cranston, Kathy Diffley and Colleen Achin of Providence, and his brothers, Dennis Diffley of Warwick, Daniel and Timothy Diffley of Providence, and the late Terry and Micky Diffley. Kevin also leaves behind Barbara Austin, "the mother-in-law", Cindy O'Rourke and Dr. Jason Austin. Kevin had many interests but starting and selling businesses was his dream. Over the years he owned and operated many businesses with the help of his wife, Robin, which included RI Rooter, The Corner Store, Milk Mart of Warwick and EG. In 1990 Kevin took over Mr. Cesspool when his father-in-law, Gordon C. Austin, passed away. He made the company grow, sold it and retired. Five years later when retirement didn't suit him, he and his son Patrick opened Diffley and Daughters Septic Service. He will be missed by Dante and the rest of the crew of Diffley and Daughters. Kevin's other interests included traveling, camping in his RV, ATVing, enjoying family and friends around the pool, cuddling with Babie and spending time with his dear friend Walter Santos. As always, Kevin did it his way. His funeral will be held Thursday at 9 AM from the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Kevin Church, Sandy Lane. Entombment will be in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.
