I´ve been thinking of Kevin a lot. He was my dance partner but also a fellow theatre geek, comedian and all around incredible talent.

In college, Kevin came to visit us at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. We were all getting dressed up for a Halloween house party and Kevin went as Horny Potter. He was so outgoing and funny all night and would wave his wand at guys pants and say "Leviosa!" I think most of my times with him always entailed him saying something a little risque or naughty, but that's what made him so fun. Those memories have stuck with me for over 20 years, so I know the jokes were good! Every time we'd see each other we'd sing part of "Welcome to the Jungle"! He always called me "Dolores" with a spanish accent because that was the name of my one-line character in The Full Monty, and we needed to make her Mexican like me. He's one of the few friends who really celebrated that side of me. I know that tonight, on Thanksgiving, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of people who are thinking of him and wishing we could have one last meal with our funny, talented friend.

I lived just down the street from Kevin as a young kid, and even in middle school he would write plays and stories that the neighborhood kids would take part in. He was a gentle spirit.

Kevin Field was the most memorable teacher of my life by far. He was my middle school theater teacher. He was so funny and cared so deeply about his students, he continued to support us when we all moved on to high school and so forth. He is the reason I still am so close with my best friends, whom I met in his class. His impact on so many young lives will live on.
