Kevin Dean Giles

Kevin Giles, 60, of Gastonia, passed away at his residence on November 22, 2025. He was born on July 17, 1965, in Gaston County. Kevin worked for Plonk Tire and was known for his love of tinkering-he enjoyed taking things apart just to put them back together again. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, and truly lived life to its fullest. Kevin had a great sense of humor and was known for offering comic relief wherever he went. He firmly believed that laughter was the best medicine and had a remarkable way of making the best out of any situation.

For the last fourteen years, his greatest joy was spending time with his granddaughter, Ronnie. He would do anything and everything she enjoyed, and their bond was one of the brightest parts of his life. Kevin also collected Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars, a hobby that brought him joy throughout the years.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 37 years, Donna Long Giles; his children, John "Bud" Giles, Nellie Giles, and Kady Giles-Davis (Shannon); and his granddaughter, Ronnie Giles. He is also survived by his wonderful neighbors, Martha and Tony Cato; extended family members, LaFaye Gordon and Robert Burris; and his Plonk Tire family-Dale, Danny, and Tim.

The family will receive friends at their home from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Monday, November 24, 2025.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
