Kevin Patrick Hatfield, age 61, passed away on November 14, 2024 in Gainesville, FL, after a lengthy illness. He was born on May 7, 1963, in Patuxent River, Maryland, to James and Judy Hatfield.
Kevin graduated in 1981 from Allentown High School, Milton, FL, and graduated from Pensacola Junior College, Milton Campus, in 1982, where he received an Associate of Science degree in general studies. He joined the United States Army that same year and proudly served as a Military Policeman in Laurel, Maryland at Ft. George G. Meade, and Smiley Barracks in Karlesruhe, Germany where he attained the rank of Specialist. After his enlistment, he went on to work and retire at Florida Department of Corrections as a corrections officer, serving at several Northwest Florida facilities including Century CI, Berrydale Forestry Camp, Liberty CI, Wakulla CI, Gulf CI and Franklin CI. Kevin enjoyed fishing and camping, especially Mack Lake, and was an avid firearms enthusiast. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his father, James P. Hatfield. He is survived by his mother, Judith L. Hatfield, children Daryl P. (Codi) Hatfield, Krista L. (Chad) Hobbs, grandchildren Lily and June Hatfield, Katie and Asher Hobbs, sister Regina (Tom) Oltorik, and nephews, Thomas, James, and Nathan Oltorik.
