Kevin Hornick Obituary

Published by Sneider & Sullivan & O’Connell’s Funeral Home and Cremation Service on May 7, 2019.
Kevin Nils Hornick passed away unexpectedly with his loving wife, Anna, by his side. Born in San Francisco to Michael & Jeanne Hornick, he was raised in South San Francisco with older brother Jeff and twin brother Ken. Kevin was an all-star athlete at El Camino High School. He enjoyed a 30 year career in Public Works and in recent years worked in private transportation; he loved working with the public and his clients. Kevin was a Beatles super fan and will now forever be 64. Kevin is survived by the love of his life and constant companion Anna; daughters Christina Avellino (Joseph) of Bernardsville, NJ, Andrea Kellerman (Zachary) of San Francisco, CA and Stephanie Singh (Ray) of Rockaway Township, NJ; grandchildren Jacob and Shoshanna Kellerman and Sabina Singh. He is also survived by older brother Jeff and niece Lacy Wetmore and her family (Kevin, Kevin Jr., and Cordelia). Known to many as "Big Kev" his heart and personality matched his stature; he was kind and generous to all who crossed his path and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Friends and family are invited to a celebration of his life on Saturday, June 1st in San Mateo from 11 am - 2 pm for location details please email [email protected].

My connection with Kevin was through High School. My feeling is that Kevin more than likely had connections with several of us. His light-heart spirit, sense of humor and gentle heart was always present when I connected with him. I asked him to sign my Senior yearbook and of course he had to poke fun of himself by writing... here´s Ken playing like a pro in this game and heres me (with an arrow) "Kevin on the Bench." Which wasn´t true but he always had a way to make me laugh!

Please accept my deepest sympathies for your loss. It is heartbreaking to lose a family member and a friend. Kevin, was a dear classmate and friend since elementary school days at Sunshine Gardens all the way through and until graduation at El Camino High. He was a stand out in our great Class of '72. Even if classmates move on with their individual lives, we never forget our dear friends.
As a fellow Beatles fan, their words and music got us all through the important times in our lives. And those songs will continue to inspire, uplift, and comfort us now. "Here Comes the Sun"

Wishing you peace, love, and blessings,
Gail

Remember holding forth with the cats on the porch on Baker court. Miss the chats. I know he's missing Anna now. . . retired only to that big pizza parlor in the sky. . . or maybe its a cat porch with treats. Condolences to the family, all.

Dear Anna and Family,

We are very sorry for your loss.

You two were the best neighbors on Baker Ct.- Those times we will always treasure. You welcomed our family to the neighborhood and made us feel part of the family. We will always have a big smile when we remember hanging out on the porch talking, laughing and listening to music with a cocktail.

We are so happy that you two made it to our summer brunch last year- we loved seeing you guys! We will miss Kevin very much.

Sending all our love to Anna and the family.
