Kevin John “Butch” McCarthy
1965–2026
Kevin John “Butch” McCarthy of Hilton, New York, passed away on February 21st, 2026, at the age of 60.He is predeceased by his parents, John R. and Helen L. (Herring) McCarthy, as well as his siblings Lorie Gardner, Michael McCarthy, and Bridget Corder.Butch is survived by his two sons, Andrew Mack (Gisella Correa) and Joseph Sands, both of whom he was deeply proud of. He is also survived by his sisters, Molly McCarthy (Tina Paternostro) and Katy Kowalczyk (Gary), along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and so many friends..
Butch had a lifelong love for the outdoors and cherished time spent with his sons and his dog, Callie. He found joy in taking them camping, kayaking, and fishing—creating memories filled with adventure, laughter, and love.A celebration of life gathering will be announced by the family in the near future.In honor of Butch, memorial donations may be made to The Villa of Hope (https://www.villaofhope.org/), Trillium Health (https://www.trilliumhealth.org/), or to an addiction recovery program of your choice.
