Kevin Joseph Kunf, 26, died May 18, 2013, at Redlands Community Hospital after a long and courageous battle with desmoplastic small-round cell tumor (sarcoma).
Born Sept. 16, 1986, at Redlands Community Hospital, he was a resident of Yucaipa his whole life.
Kevin was a graduate of Yucaipa High School with the class of 2005 and the San Pasquale Fire Academy. He was a firefighter.
He loved the great outdoors, mountain areas, fishing and airsofting. He was renowned for his great personality and generous heart.
Kevin is survived by his father, Kevin?Kunf of Yucaipa; sister Kristina Hendricksen of Calimesa; brother Aleksander Kunf of Yucaipa; grandmother Ginger Cromwell of Paso Robles; very best friend Danny Urena and niece Evelyn Hen- driksen.
A memorial service will be held Monday, May 27, at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Third Ward at 12776 Sixth St. in Yucaipa.
Interment will be private.
A Celebration of Kevin's life will be held on Saturday, June 8, at 10 a.m. St. Frances X. Cabrini Church's Parish Hall at 12687 California St. with luncheon to follow at the Yucaipa Community Park at 34900 Oak Glen Rd.

Kevin was a good friend of mine, he was always soo happy and a fun guy to hang out with, he will be forever missed.

Kevin was a great friend to our son Justin and so we had the sincerely pleasure of seeing him many times. He was always a joy to be around. We remember him as very friendly and fun. We hope for peace and comfort for his family during this difficult time.

Kevin was the most positive person I've ever known. He always had a contagious smile on his face and a sparkle in his eyes no matter what he was going through. He never gave up hope and had a strong belief in his faith. Every time he would come see me he would bring me my favorite candy a bag of chocolate twizzlers. My heart is sad but I know he is home and pain free. He will always be close in my heart and in my prayers.
