I am so very saddened to hear that my great friend from Woodland and Thomas Jefferson School in Morristown, NJ passed away. That is so young and he was such a successful and productive person. Kevin was always a bright spot, true friend and decent person. His parents raised their children well. I miss the old Mount Kemble Avenue days in the 70's and was heartbroken when my Mom and Dad separated in 1975 right after I graduated 4th grade. My brother Dana and I went with our Dad and it was a turbulent and nomadic period for us and we eventually ended up in Broadalbin in upstate NY leaving all of our wonderful friends behind. I'm glad to know that Kevin was a success and knew he would be. I send my condolences to his brothers. Rest in Peace Kevin :-(

Kevin and I first met at GE Astro Space in the early 1990's, working on the Mars Observer (MO) spacecraft. We were both selected to go to NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA to work Mission Operations for MO and we really enjoyed that time with the small team from GE and the JPLers on the project. When the mission ended abruptly we both moved back to NJ and Kevin and I and my gf at the time, Trish, all rented a big duplex in Trenton together, along with my two dogs who Kevin loved. We brewed our own beer. We roller bladed in a county park. Then I moved back to Pasadena to work at JPL and Kevin eventually took the job at Orbital Sciences Corp. We stayed in touch, but not so often as the years went by. We shared August birthdays. One year he gave me this stained glass box that he made. I have treasured it always and I just took these photos today as it sits on a shelf in my home. I got back into Legos after he shared with me all of the complex townscapes he had assembled. I was so happy for him when he found the passion for running. Oh my dear friend Kevin, you were one of the very best. Always helpful, such fun to be around, he had a good laugh! I'm so sad and I want to thank Sean for reaching out to me today -- for that effort. I really appreciate it. My deepest condolences to Kevin's family and friends. Paula

He was one of my besties and I knew if I ever needed anything, he would be one to step up and offer help. I treasure thoughts of his warped sense of humor, deep thoughts, advice, and unexpected random knowledge of the weirdest things. He was the best at creating smiles and belly laughs from across the country.
Rest in peace, Macke.
