Kevin McCoy Obituary
On October 26, 2025, we lost a great brother, father and friend. Kevin Dale McCoy, born June 6, 1969, was called home after fighting a hard battle of Pneumonia caused by Legionnaires disease.
Kevin graduated high school in 1987 from Northwestern High School in Maple Wisconsin and immediately enlisted in the United States Navy. He was deployed with the USS Denver (LPD-9) out of San Diego California. He was honorably discharged in 1991.
Kevin was best known for his years at the Choo Choo Bar and Grill in Superior, Wisconsin- first as a dedicated employee and later as the proud owner. After many years of hard work and good times shared with friends and patrons, he retired in 2024.
He had many hobbies and interests, including fishing, playing in local dart and pool leagues, and his lifelong passion for history.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara A. and Merlyn D. McCoy.
He is survived by his sons Dustin, Cody, and Dylon Tetzlaff; his big sister Kimberly McCoy; niece Nikki (Jim) Cunningham and nephew Kenny Burden; his little sister Karla (Michael) Stewart and nephew Riley (Harlie) Stewart. He also leaves behind extended family and loved ones, including his Goddaughter Ashley (JJ) Buck and her three children, as well as his "brother from another mother" Mike (Star) Kane.
Kevin will be missed greatly. His witty sense of humor and his willingness to help anyone were truly remarkable and left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
In accordance with Kevins wishes there will be a celebration of life to be announced to friends and family at a later date.
