Kevin Joe Merrick
November 4, 1963 - July 4, 2025
Kevin Joe Merrick, 61, of Henderson, Nevada, passed away on July 4, 2025, after a long and private struggle with emotional and physical pain. While his passing was sudden, the peace he now has is something he searched for over many difficult years.
Born on November 4, 1963, Kevin faced life with quiet strength, perseverance, and a fierce love for the family he built and cherished. He was a devoted husband to Melissa Merrick and a proud, loving father to Austin Merrick - his greatest source of pride and joy.
Kevin's path was not always an easy one. Despite facing deep pain, he remained true to the life he chose: one filled with commitment, honesty, and devotion to the people who mattered most. His humor, steady presence, and resilience left a lasting imprint on those who truly knew him.
Kevin's final chapter does not erase the love he gave, the strength he showed, or the legacy he leaves behind. His story is one of endurance, of chosen family, and of a love that will live on through Melissa and Austin - in their memories, in the quiet strength he passed on, and in the deep bond they will always share.
Services will be private, in keeping with Kevin's wishes. To honor his memory, the family invites donations to mental health organizations or support groups for individuals and families affected by suicide, in hopes of helping others find healing and light during dark times.
Kevin is finally at peace. And though the pain of his absence is immense, those who loved him find comfort knowing he is free from the suffering he carried for so long.
