Kevin Myler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Wm. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home - Chatham on Nov. 12, 2025.

Kevin Francis Myler, Jr., 66, of Chatham, passed away on November 9, 2025. Born August 9,1959, in Astoria, Queens, New York, Kevin was the second of four children of Mary and Kevin Myler. He grew up on Long Island and attended Half Hollow Hills East High School in Dix Hills. He went on to attend Pace University, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Upon graduating, Kevin quickly fell in love with New York City-the energy, the restaurants, the sense of adventure, and the endless opportunities to create and invent himself in the city he came to call home. While most of us have only heard the legendary stories of Club 680, his close friends surely know what really happened there.
Kevin had an eagerness to see the world. His adventurous spirit took him to many places - Spain, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Aruba - and countless destinations in between.
In August of 1990, fate intervened at a pool party in Sag Harbor that would change the trajectory of his life. Across the water, Kevin's eyes met those of a young woman from Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. Her name was Kim. As the story goes, Kevin jokingly asked for her phone and social security number so he could track her down if anything tried to keep them apart. Little did Kim know that the very next day, he would call her parents' house looking for her (yes via a land line!).
Their connection blossomed through long phone calls and visits, and just one year and one month later, on September 1, 1991, Kevin popped the question on the beach at Robert Moses State Park. The rest, as they say, was history. They would go on to get married on April 25,1992 and make their home in Chatham, New Jersey in May of 1993. Their love story flourished as they welcomed four beautiful children into their lives. Their life wasn't always easy, but it was full.
If you met Kevin, you never forgot him. Fondly nicknamed as "Big Kev," he was tall, dark, and handsome, with striking blue eyes and a presence that filled any room. No matter where we were in the world, it seemed someone would always recognize him and call out his name. Many remarked on his uncanny resemblance to Superman and not just because of his looks.
Kevin may have had the looks, but he was defined even more by his compassion, curiosity, and selflessness. He lived with the highest integrity and was always the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. His strength of character was deeply rooted in his upbringing - shaped by the example of his parents and grandparents, whose hard work and devotion inspired him to live with purpose, humility, and heart.
Kevin enjoyed life's simple pleasures: reading books or newspapers on his leather office chair or on the deck enjoying a beautiful sunny day. It wasn't until recently that Kevin found a new passion for golf. This included watching golf, instruction, and playing any chance he had. His passion extended into purchasing and selling unique golf balls. When not golfing, reading, or
"meditating" (sunbathing), he was spending time with his children and granddaughter.
He is survived by his beautiful wife Kimberly and their four children: Hailey (Zach), Jacqueline (Ryan), Derek, and Ava; granddaughter, Nora; and his siblings Carol, Daphne (Dave), and Gerald. Along with his in-laws, Nora and Mike, and Kim's two brothers and their spouses, Tony (Maria), and Mike (Missy). Kevin was a proud uncle to ten beautiful nieces and nephews and a cherished friend to countless others whose lives he touched and whose memories will keep his spirit alive. He was finally renamed Pops and loved every minute of being a grandfather. He was a proud husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend to all. He was simply the best.
The world will not be the same without Kevin. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and quick wit - a man whose humor and warmth could light up any room. He was a role model to all who knew him. Among many things, he was an incredible father and so much more.
Family and friends are welcomed to gather Sunday, November 16, 2025 from 2 - 6pm at WM. A. Bradley & Son Funeral Home, 345 Main St, Chatham NJ 07928. A Mass will be held on Monday, November 17, 2025, 10 am at Corpus Christi Parish, 234 Southern Blvd, Chatham Township NJ 07928.
