Kevin P. Neary

Kevin P. Neary, 80, died Saturday March 30 after a courageous battle with Lewy Body Disease.  Born in Brooklyn, New York to Thomas and Elizabeth (Mullaney) Neary, Kevin was predeceased by his parents, his son Kevin Patrick, brothers John (Jack) and Michael and nephew, Paul Lambert.  He is survived by his wife Marie “Jackie” Neary, his daughter Michele Neary and husband Edward DeMarco, sister Joan (Paul) Lambert and sister-in-law, Gwen Neary and several nieces and nephews.  
   Kevin was a proud graduate of the University of Massachusetts Amherst and proudly served his country in the United States Airforce before beginning a career as a special agent for the Criminal Investigative division of the Internal Revenue Service.  Kevin’s dedication and attention to detail resulted in significant contributions to the Treasury Department and he was highly respected in his field.
  Kevin was a proud Irishman, sailor, softball player, card player, golfer, avid and talented Pickleball enthusiast, consummate host and great organizer of family fun.  He had an amazing sense of humor, loved his family and extended family and was responsible in great part for the wonderful memories we have of vacationing and spending time together.  He was the family historian who discovered extended family in Ireland and organized several trips to introduce and connect us all. His family breakfasts with pancakes shaped in the letters of each guests’ names were legendary, as well as the carefully prepared agendas provided for activities of the day whenever we gathered.  He was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.  
   Kevin’s family wishes to thank all of the friends and family who supported us through his illness and extend a special thank you to the care teams of Harbor Chase Wildwood, Florida and Evergreen Walk, Connecticut and Vitas Hospice.  Your care of Kevin and kindness toward his family is greatly appreciated.
   A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11th from 9:30-10:30 AM in Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston Street, West Boylston.  A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 111 Worcester Street, West Boylston.  Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Lewybodyresoursecenter.org/donate/
