It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Kevin Michael Schaefer.

Kevin age 33 passed away at his residence on April 1, 2024.  He was born in Columbia the son of Calvin Schaefer and the late Windy Smothers McLendon.  

Kevin was a comical, fun loving guy who loved to joke around.  He loved animals, particularly dogs, he enjoyed riding his 4-wheeler.  He loved his family, especially his grandmother, and nieces and nephews.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandmother, Marcella Smothers, McBee, aunts, Ava Smothers (Michael Smith), Sumter, Cindy Evans, (Marchele), Columbia, uncle, Jason Schaefer, Hartsville, Dale Schaefer, Columbia, cousins, Levi Smith, Ellie Smith and Mason Smith.  

He was preceded in death by his mother, Windy McLendon, paternal grandmother, Jane Schaefer, paternal grandfather, Randy Schaefer, maternal grandfather, Mike Smothers, maternal great grandfather, G.W. Smothers, maternal great grandmother, Jerdgie Smothers.

Memorial services will be held 4:00pm Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at the Chapel of Norton Funeral Home.  Rev. Marvin Jones will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
