Kevin Seals Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Ronald Taylor II Funeral Home - Washington D.C. on Jan. 2, 2026.
Kevin Wade Seals, lovingly known as "Babe," "KK," or "Deacon," was born on October 5, 1960, to the late Robert Andrew Seals and Lillian May Seals. He peacefully departed this life on December 30, 2025.

Kevin spent his entire childhood in Barclay, Maryland, where he formed lifelong bonds with family and friends. Some of his most cherished memories were those shared with his father-riding on the truck with him, waking up in the middle of the night to cook him breakfast when he returned home, pitching horseshoes, and he especially loved hunting alongside his dad and uncles.

He also held close the memories of his mother, Lillian, whose love and musical spirit shaped him deeply. Kevin grew up singing in the Barclay Choir, which she directed with passion and grace. His parents' strong faith taught Kevin responsibility, loyalty, and the quiet strength that became the foundation of his character.

As an adult, Kevin found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and playing games with his family, often gathering around the fire pit to make s'mores or firing up the grill to cook steaks just the way everyone liked them. Each fall, he looked forward to hunting season, and on many days you could find him at a local water spot, fishing with his grandkids by his side. Kevin also cherished quiet evenings watching westerns with his wife-she was the only one who enjoyed them as much as he did. He delighted in serving at his local church, and he never missed a chance to enjoy one of Granny's special meals, especially his all time favorite: pig feet.

A proud graduate of Queen Anne's County High School, Class of 1978, Kevin went on to attend Lincoln Technical Institute, where he earned his mechanic certification. In 2006, he further expanded his skills by completing his electrician certification at ABC, Inc. Throughout his career, Kevin worked faithfully at Money's Truckstop, Country Pride, Sisk Mailing, Friel's, and for 21 years at the Queen Anne's County Sanitation District, where he retired. After the passing of his brother in law Conray in 2010, Kevin inherited the family trash service business and served his customers with unwavering dependability and integrity. He was known for his strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to help anyone in need.

In 1988, Kevin met the love of his life, Sheila. They were united in marriage on October 6, 1990, and together built a beautiful life and home in Chester, Maryland. Kevin and Sheila shared a special bond and deep friendship-one rooted in faith, loyalty, and genuine companionship. They worshipped side by side in church, enjoyed traveling together, and created a home that became a safe and welcoming place for gathering, fellowship, and love. They served one another wholeheartedly, caring for each other with devotion until Kevin's passing. Their greatest accomplishment was raising their two beloved daughters, Alicia and Bobbi, who were the pride of Kevin's heart. He cherished watching them grow, guiding them in strong faith, and later witnessing them raise families of their own.

Kevin was a devoted member of New Walk Community Church, where he served faithfully as a Deacon. His love for the Lord, his church family, and his quiet yet powerful leadership left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Andrew Seals and Lillian May Seals; his sister, Desiree Seals Jeffers; his brothers in law, Conray "Connie" Moore, Johnnie Harris, and Raymond Jeffers; and his sister in law, Arlene Seals.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 35 years, Sheila Seals; his dearly beloved mother in law, Alice Giddens; aunts H. Evalena Burke and Joyce Seals; his daughters, Alicia (Deonte') and Bobbi (Troy); his grandchildren, Kayla, Karter, Lily, and Layla; his brother, Dwaine; his sisters, Kim and Shauntel (S. Hershel); his sisters in law, Diane (Johnny) and Colleen "Cook"; his brother in law, John "Henry" (Eric); his nieces, Zita, Kia (James), Eryka, and Ashleigh (Shaquan); his nephews, James and Jeffrey (Jacori); his great nieces and nephews, Jasmine (Justin), Zaaron, Jade, Jaymia, James, Jaylen, Jasiyah, Jazier, Janell, Janaysia, James Jr., Jayce, Jaxon, Justice, Joshua, Jeffrey Jr., and Jonathan; and a host of great great nieces and nephews, four beloved godchildren, and a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, family friends, and a cherished church family.
