Kevin L. Strickland, 62, of Stroudsburg, passed away suddenly at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Ceder Crest Campus on Friday, November 1, 2024.
Born in Brooklyn, NY; he was the eldest son of the late Thomas Strickland and Eloise (Shelby) Strickland. Kevin was the beloved husband of Ethel (Barnett) Strickland for 36 years. Kevin was an ParaProfessional for The Board of Education for over 25 years. Upon retiring from NYC BOE He become bored and joined the Martz Bus CompNY Family where he gained new friends and experiences, until recently. Kevin had a big heart yet a level head. Kevin firmly believed Jehovah first, family, then community. OldSchool as he was affectionately known as was a confidant, father figure, life coach to many. Kevin enjoyed all things sports especially the Knicks, Jets, and Mets.He did it all played, coached, spectatied, watched. Kevin was an advent Spade player. He was a self proclaimed World Tour Champion. Kevin had a strong love for movies and theater. Kevin took life changing steps by recommitting his life to Jehovah.
In addition to his wife, Ethel; Kevin will be lovingly remembered by his children, Lamont (V.A), Kevin K & (P.A), Kadeshur, (Justin) (P.A.) two young ladies like daughters to him Sharnika & Jazma five beautiful grandchildren: Dion, Sapphire, Nubia, Londyn, and Josani. Mother Eloise Strickland (PA), Brothers Jason (Sasha) P.A., Jerrell (NY) IN- Loves Ben Hall (MD), Berniece(Bruce) GA, Allen (Carol) NY, Barbara & William (NC), James (Pam) NY, Inez (PA), Jacqueline (NY). A host of friends; Nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends. Kevin touched so many lives in unique ways. There are some who shared a special bond some long lasting and others more recent he had a way of making it feel a lifetime. His span was far reaching touching Many lives family, friends and his spiritual family.
Kevin is proceeded in death by his grandparents; his father; his in loves/laws Most recently his brother and spades partner, Markeith.
A viewing will take place on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Bolock Funeral Home, 6148 Paradise Valley Road, Cresco, Pa 18326.
A memorial service will follow at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2036 Milford Rd, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301.
Burial will take place Monday, November 11, 2024 at Noon in Stroudsburg Cemetery of Stroudsburg.
