Kevin M. Utter, 58, Mandan, formerly of Selfridge, ND passed away September 24, 2016 at Sanford Health in Bismarck surrounded by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, September 30, 2016 at Spirit of Life Catholic Church, Mandan, ND with Msgr. Chad Gion as celebrant. Inurnment will be at Mandan Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 29, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Weigel Funeral Home, with a Rosary/Parish Vigil at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday. Kevin Merle Utter was born on December 15, 1957 the oldest of 9 children to Miles and Delores (Ternes) Utter in McLaughlin, SD. Kevin had a love for music as he was self-employed and owned his own D.J. business called "Dakota Plains". While playing music, Kevin met his significant other; Bonnie Doll; together they have resided in Mandan for several years. He also worked for Cloverdale Foods for many years until his health issues disabled him. Kevin had a hard fought battle with kidney problems for most of his life. Making homemade sausage at the Nick Hersch farm was one of the highlights in Kevin's life. He loved hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and "Brutus" (his dog), visiting with family and old friends from high school. Kevin was a compassionate person. He will always be remembered for his music, smile, sense of humor and his kindness. He will be deeply missed by many. Kevin is survived by his daughter, Jill Dillman, Mandan, ND; mother, Delores Utter, Arvada, CO; brothers, Kurt (Nickki), Bismarck, ND, Kary, Selfridge, ND, Kip (LaRae), Bismarck, ND; sisters, Kim (Tony) Fleming, Arvada, CO, Kelly (Paul) McCloskey, Englewood, CO; Karen (Greg) Seiler, Bismarck, ND, Karmon Koble (Troy Gruchalla), Mandan, ND and Kam (Rocky) Schwagler, Forsyth, MT; significant other, Bonnie Doll, Mandan, ND; step-sons, Gary and Kyle Kostelecky, Mandan, ND; step-daughter, Trish (Jason) Locken, Mandan, ND; grandchildren; aunts and uncles and numerous nieces and nephews. Kevin was preceded in death by his father and several aunts and uncles.
