Kevin Wilfred Vintinner

Kevin Wilfred Vintinner, 66, died January 12, 2026 at the University of Vermont Medical Center after a brief illness.

Kevin was born in Burlington, Vermont on October 23, 1959, the son of Shirley Ann (Fay) and Carlton Edwin Vintinner.

Adventurous, with a keen mind, Kevin attended schools in Vermont and California, and was a tournament level junior chess player by age 13. He participated in a variety of sports, from basketball to skating and surfing. His outgoing nature lent itself to work in the fields of sales and hospitality.

A self-taught skier, Kevin was a member of the Mount Mansfield Ski Club of Stowe, Vermont. For a time, he coached the U.S. Army Alpine Ski Team in Germany.

In 1987 he competed in the NASTAR National Championships against times set by the U.S. Olympic Ski Team, finishing fifth out of 100 skiers in the 19 to 29 year age bracket.

He never lost his appreciation for a great snowfall.

Kevin is survived by his children, son Chris Vintinner, daughters Corinne Vintinner and Claire Thibault, and his seven grandchildren.

He is also survived by his brother, Dale Vintinner (Susie), and two sisters, Stephanie Monsour-Nixdorf (Jim Nixdorf), and Thea Lewis (Roger).

Kevin will also be remembered fondly by his many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
