Keyvon Washington Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by West Haven Funeral Home - West Haven on Jan. 26, 2026.
Keyvon M. Washington, 18, died suddenly on January 17, 2026. Born on May 20, 2007, a son of Keyna M. Washington. In addition to his mother, Keyvon is survived by sisters Keyannaleiz Washington, Keyara Spellman; brother Keil Thompson; grandfather Keith Morris Washington; grandmother Cheryl Magoveny; aunt Maliya Washington; many cousins; devoted girlfriend Liana Galo; as well as his father, paternal siblings, and paternal grandparents.

Keyvon was preceded in death by his uncles Keil and Kenneth Washington; great-grandparents Eleanor and Jack Modena, and Jean and G. K. Washington; along with his cats Flower and Daffodil.

Persistent and fearless, Keyvon learned to swim by the age of three. He was incredibly smart, full of emotion, and loved his family and friends deeply. He was unconventional and mischievous. He was a Boy Scout who loved fishing with his friends and being outdoors. Keyvon was also a master at origami.

The president of his 2025 high school class, Keyvon graduated with a certificate in Culinary Arts through Job Corps. He had a knack for business and the art of persuasion. He had a will of his own and when he set a goal, he accomplished it.

Keyvon planned to attend college and to buy a house with land - and perhaps a farm as well. Keyvon dreamed of moving his maternal grandparents there and caring for them in their elder years.

Passionate about everything he did or said, Keyvon will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
