Khamla Thammavong, 70, of Rockford, passed away at home on March 19, 2025, with family by her side. Born in Laos on October 5, 1954, to Hoinpanya and Pomkhamthin. She married Sam Thammavong in Laos in 1972 and they shared five children together. Family was very important to her and her favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren. In her free time, she also enjoyed shopping, cooking, and gardening.
She is survived by those who love her, husband, Sam; children, Onkeo (Thongchanh) Thammavong, Yee (Tiffany) Thammavong, Seng (Pho) Mayon, Touy (Jennifer) Thammavong, Rani Thammavong; grandchildren, Aaron, Kendrick, Preston, Sydney, Justine, Emma, Jude, Juliet, Kinsley; and sister, Ai Phongsavong. She is predeceased by her parents.
A traditional Laotian funeral service will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. through 3:00 p.m. at Fitzgerald Funeral Home & Crematory, 1860 S. Mulford Road, Rockford, IL 61108. To send your condolences online and share memories, please visit www.fitzgeraldfh.com.
