Kimberlie Thatcher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Walker Sanderson Funeral Home & Crematory - Orem on Mar. 21, 2023.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kimberlie "Kimmi" Lynn Thatcher, who passed away in her home surrounded by her loved ones on her 50th birthday, March 18, 2023. We are certain her angel dad came that afternoon to take her home. Kimmi was a brave and selfless person, who had been battling Chronic Intestinal Pseudo Obstruction disease for 30 years. She never once complained or asked, "why me?" despite the many struggles she faced.
Kimmi had a zest for life, she loved to dance and sing karaoke. She was known for her spunky personality, she loved playing practical jokes and she had a great sense of humor. She had the best laugh and gave the warmest hugs. She had a deep love for animals, especially her sweet chihuahua Zeke, who was a celebrity at the hospital where she often walked the halls. Kimmi made a point of knowing each patient on her floor, she knew their families, their life stories, and medical situations, she always made friends easily, she has many dear friends that love her. Kimmi turned her trials and pain into love and compassion for others. She celebrated other's successes, cried with them when they hurt, and did everything she could to help those in need. She persevered through many struggles and was always more concerned with protecting others less fortunate. She had a huge heart and regularly participated in sub for Santa programs.
Kimmi was born in Provo, Utah on March 18, 1973, and grew up primarily in Orem. She was the daughter of Kathie Thatcher Jense and the late Richard Thatcher. Kimmi enjoyed hippie styles, loved bright colors, and sunflowers. She also adored babies and the elderly and had a special place in her heart for her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She had a way of making everyone feel loved.
Kimmi had a passion for creating. She loved to paint and do paint pours, crochet hats for newborns for charity organizations, and had a green thumb when it came to gardening. She also enjoyed fishing and bird watching, she even had some feathered friends that visited her on her porch every morning in the summer.
Kimmi is survived by her children, Brittanie, Tanner, Oaklie, and Andrew, as well as her brother Todd Thatcher, and sister Michelle and (Doug) Fowkes. She will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren and all who knew and loved her. She is preceded by her father, Richard Thatcher, grandparents, Robert and Helen Ingalsbe, William and Vera Thatcher and Sarah Barney, and her special friend Jojo. Kimmi will be missed terribly and will be forever in our hearts.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 29, from 11:00 am to 12:45 pm at the Walker Sanderson Funeral Home located at 646 E 800 N, Orem. A Celebration of Life will follow at 1:00 pm. Kimberlie will be laid to rest at East Lawn Memorial located at 4800 N 650 E St, Provo, at 1:30 pm. In accordance with Kimmi's wishes, the funeral will have a Boho or Tie Dye, hippie theme.

She always had so much love to share. She loved me at a time when I probably didn't deserve it. Although many years have past I still hold her deep in my heart. We had some great times and the memories I'll cherish for ever.
