Kimberly Byrd-Price Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 25, 2025.
Kimberly Jayne Byrd-Price "Kim," born September 23, 1964, to Donna Sue Gillig and Gary Czarnowski in Hillsboro, Kansas, passed away on November 15, 2025 after a courageous two-year battle with melanoma, surrounded by those she loved most.

Kim's heart was always full, and she poured it generously into every corner of her life. She was the devoted mother of Alex and Ethan Eckhart, and cherished wife of Todd Price. Her Family and 3 beloved pets (Angel, Sophie and Patches), brought her immense joy.

A true lover of life, Kim found happiness in so many things- Music, gardening, the arts, quality time with friends, and the thrill of traveling. She was a marvelous cook who enjoyed trying new recipes, and an avid crafter, expressing dedication and creativity through everything from cross-stitch to stained glass. Kim's chicken noodle recipe was her signature dish. She also enjoyed hiking, attending concerts, sports events, craft fairs, and celebrating every small moment that made life meaningful.

Kim had a gift for uplifting others. She shared her faith warmly as a children's Sunday school teacher. Professionally, she built a long and meaningful career as a trainer, where her patience, encouragement, and ability to make others feel capable left a lasting impact on those she worked with.

Kim was beautiful inside and out- a quality reflected not only in her kindness and spirit, but in the way she brought warmth and light into every space she entered.

Kim is survived by her mother, Donna Sue Byrd (Gillig); her siblings, Amy, Matt, and Randy; her 2 Sons, Alex Adrian Eckhart (Deborah Eckhart) and Ethan James Eckhart; Husband, Todd Price; Step-daughters, Katelyn and Karly; and 4 step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in Death by her Father, Gary Czarnowski, and Step-Father, Jim Byrd, whom she loved dearly.

She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, and boundless love.

A celebration of life service will be held at the gravesite; 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 29th at Shawnee Center Cemetery, Wakarusa. Fellowship will follow at the Wakarusa Presbyterian Church, 10135 SW Jordan Rd, Wakarusa, KS 66546.
